The Taliban are using toy drones to drop bombs
The militant group Taliban is using small drones to bomb government forces in Afghanistan. That's what the Afghan intelligence chief said. This information was given in the report of the news agency AFP on Tuesday.
Ahmed Zia Siraj, head of the country's National Directorate of Security (NDS), said on Monday that Taliban militants had used toy drones in some recent attacks. In this case, they filled the drone with explosives.
Ahmed Zia said the drones used by Taliban militants to carry out bombings were available in the market. These are basically camera drones.
Ahmed Zia told parliament that the NDS wanted to stop imports of such popular devices.
The use of toy drones to drop bombs appears to indicate that Taliban militants are using new tactics in their fight.
Taliban militants reportedly used drones to bomb the compound of the governor of Afghanistan's Kunduz province in late October.
However, Ahmed Zia did not confirm the truth of the news. But he noted that Taliban militants had used drones in attacks in Kunduz and Paktia provinces.
