Hammer-rifle protests in the United States
Police have arrested 11 people in Portland, the largest city in the US state of Oregon. Fireworks, hammers, and a rifle were recovered from them.
Police claimed that there was a riot. Oregon Governor Kate Brown activated the National Guard to quell protests on the night of the U.S. presidential election.
Police in New York also arrested 50 people. Protests began to spread across the city from Wednesday afternoon. Police say pro-Biden and pro-Trump protesters have been protesting.
Biden's supporters have held small and peaceful election rallies in several US cities. US President Donald Trump has declared himself the winner and called for a halt to vote-counting in several states. Biden says he will be on the road to victory once the vote count is over.
Four protesters were arrested in clashes with police involved in Denver, according to Denver Police Department. Minepolisera police say they have arrested some of the demonstrations off the road.
The two sides have also started campaigning in Atlanta, Detroit, and Auckland. A Portland Police spokesman told Reuters 11 people had been detained since the riots broke out.
However, no one was injured. More than 100 people gathered on Wednesday morning and wanted to go to Detroit, Michigan. They demanded a full vote count as well as a peaceful transfer of power.
Protests have been going on in the United States for months over the death of black George Floyd ahead of the November 3 US election. Protests have been going on for a long time in the downtown area of Portland. Many times these protests are seen to take the form of clashes.
