China found coronavirus in a packet of Brazilian meat


China is running various programs to control coronavirus across the country. The country has also tested frozen food imported as part of it.


Authorities in China's Wuhan city say they have identified the coronavirus in a packet of frozen meat from Brazil. A report by the news agencys Reuters has givent this information.


The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission said in a statement on its website that they found the presence of corona on the outside of a packet of boneless frozen beef from Brazil. They received a total of three positive samples.


 The meat arrived in the country on August 6 through the country's Qingdao port. It reached Uhan on 16 August. This meat was stored in the cold storage for so many days.


The coronavirus spread around the world from a market in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year.


Wuhan authorities say more than 100 workers involved in the sale of their frozen meat have been tested. Apart from this, 200 environmental samples have also been tested.


Since the beginning of this year, China has taken extensive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. In late June, the virus began to test imported food.


Last September, 3 million samples were tested and 22 corona were identified in the country. Recently, coroner's infections have been on the rise in the country's port areas, prompting increased food testing and disinfection programs.


Coronavirus infection was also detected in food samples imported into the country from Argentina this week.


China is the world's top buyer of beef. Brazil and Argentina are the largest meat suppliers in the country.
