The BCL leader is the main accused in the case of gang-raping his wife at the MC College dormitory in Sylhet.




Saifur Rahman, the main accused in the gang-rape case, wanted to flee to India by tying up his husband in the dormitory of MC College in Sylhet, police said.

He was arrested from Noarai Kheyaghat in the border area of   Sunamganj's Chhatak Upazila around 8 am on Sunday (September 28).



According to the police, the accused Saifur wanted to flee to India through the border of Doarabazar in Sunamganj. He went to the Surma river ferry in the Chhatak Noarai area around 6 am on Sunday.



However, with the help of technology, the police confirmed the location of accused Saifur Rahman towards the border area. Later, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Billal Hossain of Chhatak Circle went there.



ASP Billal Hossain told the media that Saifur had a beard in the picture. He cut his beard, put on a face mask, and went to the ferry. He was wearing a T-shirt and pants. Arrive at the border area in the morning. Maybe I was supposed to go to the border area and communicate with someone.



He added that a search was on for his relatives in Chhatak and Doarabazar to find out if anyone had helped Saifur escape.



Meanwhile, Chhatak police sources said that a police team led by SI Habibur Rahman was patrolling the ferry area of the Surma river in Chhatak Upazila. Police became suspicious when they saw Saifur waiting at the ferry for about half an hour from 6 am.



As soon as he approached her, he found similarities with Saifur's pictures published through various media. Then he was asked his name. He was horrified. He was arrested and takening to the police stations. Police confirmed his identity at the police station.



Sunamganj Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman said a team of police arrested Saifur Rahman from the Noarai ferry just after confirming the location of accused Saifur Rahman towards the border area with the help of technology.



Arrested Saifur Rahman Md. Chandaipara of Sonapur of Balaganj Upazila of Sylhet. Son of Tahid Miah. He is also accused in an arms case.



According to multiple students of MC College, Saifur has taken the Masters exam from the English department of MC College. Because of her eve-teasing and harassment, many girls from MC College moved to other colleges. Even Saifur and his associates in the college have been extorting money by holding ordinary students hostage.



Note that last Friday (September 25) evening, the husband and wife went to visit MC College. At that time, 5-6 people from the college campus forcibly took the couple to the college dormitory. They raped her 19-year-old housewife while keeping her husband in a room there.
